Happy Friday everyone! How’s that for an opening image, huh? True love and a gorgeous beach sunset. :)  Jessica and Curt decided on a small, no-fuss seaside wedding at Puerto Vallarta in Mexico so they could focus on the important things — their marriage +  a private getaway with their loved ones. They were on a tight budget so Jessica’s artistic creativity came into play — she made the bouquet and cute boutonnieres herself. Jessica and her bridesmaids rocked whimsical-beach-chic (ok I just made that up) with colorful bead necklaces, nail art that matched the peach & turquoise motif, and beaded barefoot “sandals”. The boys meanwhile exuded beach-cool in their crisp white cotton shirts and light denim jeans.

Raul Perez Amezquita is responsible for the beautiful photos, and this wonderful wedding was coordinated by Staci Nichols with Puerto Vallarta Wed. She subscribes to Poptastic Bride (aww thanks Staci!) and thought I would like this wedding. Well, you were absolutely right Staci! Here’s part of her e-mail:

The bride had some amazing style the world needs to see! There are no tables capes or anything like that — this was a 19 person wedding that happened while their cruise ship parked in Vallarta for the day. The bride made the bouquet and boutonnieres herself–gorgeous. I love her manicure, dress, anklets, overall style….truly amazing. I also love the groom’s attire. So many beach brides think khaki or white linen for the men’s attire… but this is perfect for a casual beach wedding. The right way to kick off your marriage is by saying to the groom, “Honey, I want you to be comfortable and relaxed!”

This wedding shows brides that casual can still be stylish and stylish can be casual. :)

Here’s beautiful Jessica to tell us more about herself & Curt and their wedding:

I am a Banker and a Colorado mountain girl! Curt is an Entrepreneur and a hunting addict. We might not agree on much but one thing we both can agree on is our love for the outdoors! We met in February 2010 and got engaged September 2013. It was definitely love at first sight for the two of us.

We were planning the big blow out 250 guest barn wedding for this summer. After about a month of planning I just felt so overwhelmed. For me the planning process was supposed to be fun and I didn’t want to stress out over it. I always thought I would be a bridezilla and have to have the big wedding but once I finally got engaged I realized that it didn’t matter what kind of wedding it was as long as Curt was next to me it would be perfect so I started looking at other options. Since we both love the outdoors the beach was our next idea.

I looked and looked for a full month and talked to multiple people trying to find a planner and I finally found Staci. The more I tried to plan the more I realized the simpler the better. I don’t remember the food at the last wedding I was at or the cake or the dancing or decorations but what I do remember is the good company and friends who attended. So it hit me I wanted to share this moment with people who loved us and were coming to share this moment and not just for a good time. I am so happy with my decision because it just strengthened our relationship with everyone who came. I didn’t feel judged on my food or dress, everything just felt perfect! Plus who doesn’t like spending there wedding day laying on a beach with the girls and a margarita instead of setting up tables and tents. We aren’t big on being the center of attention so we picked something that everyone would gain a life long memory from. It felt like a big family vacation.

As far as a decoration plan, I basically had colors picked and that’s it. To be completely honest I kind of just winged it when it came to decorations. My family is very thrifty so I knew we would make it work. But when you are on the beach with a beautiful sunset you don’t need many decorations. The only decoration I really brought was vases and we just put our bouquets in them for the centerpiece.

Words of advice — the saying you only get married once well if it only happens once don’t waste your time stressing out over the wedding plans because that time goes so fast and its half the fun! Just have fun with it and don’t worry about what people think! For your guests its one day that they will forget, for you its the rest of your life so do what makes you happy! It one time in life where you can be selfish!
